How To Make Your First Sale As A Service-Based Business Owner?

A 7-step guide on how to land your first sale as a new, service-based entrepreneur.

This article is especially for the introverts out there among you or those, who are afraid of sales and selling.

Which – by the way – you don’t have to be! And I hope that this article will help you with its actionable tips to get over it. The last step – the implementation – is on you. Don’t forget, we all start out somewhere ;).

Now, you’ve already made the totally bold decision to start a service-based business (or become a freelancer). Huge congratulations! At this point, you just need to get those first few sales to know that this business you’ve been working on is actually working.

This article will surely help you and is full of actionable advice.

How to make your first sale as a new, service-based business owner?

Before we dive in, let me just preface this article – and your mindset – by saying that: selling is indeed a skill that can be learned (as according to Harvard Business Review).

We all suck at it at the beginning! Trust me. Myself included.

I remember that I got SO nervous before getting on a call with a prospect that I had to mentally grow some big girl pants a couple hours before hopping on the call. But even then, my hands were clammy, my voice was shaking at times and I felt myself blushing in embarrassment at some of the thigns I’ve said.

But you know what?

I. Did. It. Anyway!

And now, hopping on calls with prospective clients and closing them are two of my favorite things to do in my business ;).

The things that I share in this article are a few things that I’ve learned in regards to how to land your first sale.

{I’m still planning on writing an article on closing a prospect but that will have to be a topic for another day – so, stay tuned.}

The good news is that it only takes a few weeks of practice to get good at sales! That and knowing what to look out for to become better at it.

First things first.

Most budding service-based entrepreneurs get caught up in the fact that they have to start cold contacting potential leads *shiver*.

They start telling themselves all sorts of stories on how they are not ready – or, experienced enough – to approach potential prospects.

BUT… this is typically not where the hiccup lies (IF you haven’t signed your first client *yet*).

The sales issue typically lies in how you are presenting + selling your ‘service offering/ suit’.

Let’s dive deeper into this topic:

(1) If you have been reaching out to potential clients & you haven’t sold a single one than it’s typically because:

[A] You don’t believe in your own skill-set yet and that you can actually help them achieve the end-transformation you are trying to sell them on.

REAL TALK: If that is the case, you gotta work on your skill-set a bit more before you start adventuring out into the Wild Wild West.

I’m strongly assuming that since you’re reading this article and you want to legitimately find out how to grow your new business, you’re not one of those sucky people that are trying to rip others off.

Hats off to you and I congratulate you on wanting to make that first sale with integrity.

So, if [A] is the case (and if it is, trust me, you know it), all you want to be doing is take i.e.:

+ Take an online course to help you improve your skill-sets further.

+ Join a mastermind or online membership site (such as the Funnel Pro Academy) so you can put your skill-sets to a test in a supported environment.

+ Be honest with your potential client and offer a free trial month, for example. Personally, I’m not a fan of this last option.

Why? Because time is the most important commodity we have. As such, you never want to give yours away for free. That’s just where I’m at.

Also, I’m sure your particular skill-sets in the service area you’re trying to sell, are better then the ones of your potential client already. That’s why she/he is looking for help! Hence, you should get paid for your efforts.

Now, before we get side-tracked let’s get back to [B].

[B] You got the skill-sets. But you’re sabotaging yourself, telling yourself you can’t deliver.

Yep. There’s pretty much the opposite one to [A] as well.

How do you know?

Simple.

Get your journal out. Right now.

Journaling can help you get clear on that first sale.

Then, give yourself 7 days.

And now, each morning (or evening) jot down without thinking about it too much how you feel about signing your first client.

Imagine that you’ve already signed him/her. How do you feel about it? Do you feel sick to your stomach because you’re not quite sure how you should fulfill the service sale?

Or, are you totally sure what you need to do to help your new client?

Also, do you notice you feel mostly unsure on sales calls because you don’t have any social proof yet? Or, do you feel unsure because you aren’t sure about your skills.

Try to decipher your feelings through internal dialogues. Don’t judge yourself while you go through this process. Let your thoughts go wild and write down all your feelings.

After 7 days, take some inventory. You’ll be amazed at what you’ve discovered about yourself.

Cool? Great! Let’s move on.

[C] You haven’t gotten clear on your core service offer and product suite yet.

Now, I’m going to be honest with you. Typically as a service-based entrepreneur, you’re always going to be working on developing your product suite.

With each new 10 or 100 clients, you’ve learned a new thing or two.

As such, you’re ideally going to adapt your different service offers accordingly.

What’s important to note though is that if you’re NOT clear on your core offer yet and you sound like a jumbled mess on sales calls… you gotta do some market research first!

Market research to establish a sellable 'product suit' needs to be done before trying to sell.

Find 10 ideal clients.

Hop on a call with them (ask them if it’s okay if you record the call). Then, chat with them! Find out what major thing they’re struggling with as it’s related to your niche speciality.

Also, ask them if they feel like XYZ or ABC would help them solve it? And if so, in which format? How long until they would like to see results, etc?

IMPORTANT: Keep track of all the answers in an organized way on a Google Spreadsheet.

Where do you find ideal clients of yours to ask if they’d be open to help you with some market research?

My favorite method are utilizing Facebook Groups.

The good ones, of course. The active ones.

If you’re authentic and honest in the way you ask, you’re going to find tons of people that are willing to help you.

(2) Get clear on your pricing & sales income goals.

90% of new service-based business owners undervalue themselves and sell themselves short.

This is a statistic by yours truly, so no, you won’t find it anywhere else.

I swear, I’m always amazed at how, for example, even new social media managers start out by offering to manage entire social media channels for a client (including content creation) for less than $500 a month!

To me that is NUTS!

Why is that?

It has to do with a mixture of two things:

[A] Inexperience and a lack of research done about their market.

[B] A still developing sense of self-value.

Think about it! To manage say Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin, etc. for one client, organize their posts, schedule them, etc. these are hours and hours and hours of work!

If somebody charged $500 a month for this service, well… you’d soon burn out because your hourly rate would come probably down to like $0.30/hour.

And yes, even though I don’t recommend charging per hour – EVER – as a service-based business owner, it’s good to keep your hourly take-home rate in mind (as well as the one of your team) before closing the sale.

The amount of your first sale will be determined by how high you set your pricing.

How can you get clear on your pricing yet?

Pick a number – after you’ve looked at what your competitors charge – and double it.

Yep. You heard me say that right.

DOUBLE IT.

That’s going to be the first number you start with when trying to sell to your first client. And selling, you will ;).

Next, you also want to get clear on your income goals!

This is VITAL!

You can not shoot an arrow in the dark. Well, you could but chances are you’re going to miss your sales goal.

As such, be sure to get clear on how much you want to be making:

(1) Per client.

(2) Per month.

(3) Per business quarter (4 months).

Keep those numbers somewhere where you can see them daily to remind yourself of your goals!

(3) Create your sales positioning strategy.

People buy from people they know, like and trust,” they say.

True. To a certain extent.

Although, if we’re honest, it can take a LONG time to get somebody to trust you online, especially if they’ve never met you before.

For the sake of this article, I’m going to assume that you’re wanting to find new clients online (and not in your local community, for example).

Say, you don’t have months to create and produce consistent content online to establish rapport and as such, make sales on autopilot.

Although – side note – this will be something you want to be doing to truly grow a sustainable business.

What to do?

How can you get your first client within the next couple of days or weeks?!

One of the ways to do this is through positioning.

You need to position yourself to breed trust.

How do you do that?

First of all, it’s how you show up online (and in person) as a business owner.

According to CMO, this is how you build trust online,
““It’s about being transparent, doing what is expected and shared values. Key to this is the internal culture of the brand becoming more evident. The expectation is you deliver to those values with more purpose-driven activities so you are living and breathing the values.”

Then, there are a few more things you want to have in place so you can guarantee that your future clients will trust you.

And yes, some of them we already talked about but I wanted to make sure to include them one more time. That way, they will really sink in ;).

So, here’s my ‘Trust Building Organic Sales Strategy’ for you:

  1. Have a great service offering that can deliver.
  2. Work on building up a strong online presence through consistent content marketing.
  3. Be transparent and honest in your daily conversations with your audience.
  4. Share testimonials and reviews whenever you get them.
  5. Listen to your potential clients and respond to them by creating content around their most burning questions (such as this one, for example **see what I did there **).
  6. Don’t be a bot and automate your outreach. Just don’t. It’s annoying and it will only get you that far.
  7. Give potential clients multiple ways to contact you.

(4) Social proof, social proof, social proof will help you close your sale.

One of the quickest ways to gain the trust of your ideal audience online is through…

REVIEWS!!!

It's easier to land the first sale if you've already got some social proof.

What does this mean for you?

You want to focus on getting testimonials or social proof in any shape or form as soon as possible!

I know what you’re thinking right now though,

“How can I get reviews if I haven’t worked with anyone before?”

That’s a great questions!

A simple solution to this is that you can show somebody what it is that you can do by doing it for yourself.

Want to do i.e. Facebook Ads for businesses. Run Facebook Ads for yourself first, record your progress and successes and put everything into a case study PDF. Et voila! You’ve got some form of testimonial you can show to prospects.

(5) Make sure you’ve got your organic ‘Social Media Funnel’ in place for easy selling.

Do you have all of your social media sites linked up at the appropriate fields with a 2-step lead generation funnel?

And does this lead generation sales funnel share with a new email list subscriber a kickass freebie? An in-depth awesome case study (like the one mentioned in the previous step)?

No? Or, yes?

If you have purely links to a new website, this isn’t enough! You want to strategically double down on your lead generation efforts.

If you have your social media sites linked up – awesome!

Now, make sure you got a follow up email sequence in place as well. At least, for 5 consecutive days I’d recommend.

For automated email sequences, I recommend ActiveCampaign.

Next, be sure you use a clear and professional profile image on all of your social media channels. One that allows us to see your eyes.

Get rid of that pet in your photo (of course, only on the photo I mean lol!) or those sunglasses you were wearing and look straight into the camera.

(6) Start by building relationships!

Often times, you feel so much pressure as a new business owner to ‘make the sale’ that you forget another, vital step: it’s to build relationships.

Also, there’s a lot of misconception around ‘selling’.

To me, I see selling as SERVING. Selling is a transfer of emotional energy.

How emotion plays into sales.

In your case: your passion about how you can solve your ideal client’s pain point by serving him/her in your unique way and the kind of transformation you can help them achieve.

On sales calls (or private messenger conversations), your passion needs to be palpable.

Shift your focus from ‘cold selling’ somebody or pushing your services onto them TO – starting, growing and building relationships.

Depending on where your ideal audience, or client, hangs out at – this is where you need to be too. If it’s, for example, Facebook Groups, on Instagram, Youtube, it doesn’t matter.

Social media is there for networking – and to build relationships with awesome people locally and around the world.

Every time you start working on your new business, start by networking on social media where your ideal clients hang out at.

Give yourself about 60 minutes per day, 5 days a week and you’ll be amazed how fast you’re going to make your first sale (IF you follow all the previous steps, of course).

(7) Final ‘landing-the-sale’ tip.

There are three more things that are important when landing your first sale as a service-based business owner:

[A] Tell people what it is that you do by showing them through [B].

[B] Position yourself correctly with kickass, valuable content and while doing so, [C]

[C] Focus on how you make potential clients feel.

A potential client can already get a feel for how it is to be working with you by how you show up online and how you handle yourself ;).

Always keep this in mind.

And that’s it!!

If you keep following these steps consistently, you are going to get your first sale in no time and it will most likely start out with you getting a private message like this,

“Hi XYZ. I loved your reply to what Jane posted in the XYZ Facebook Group. I’m actually having a hart time with XYZ and would love to learn more about your services.”

Now, how does this person – for example – know that you have services that you offer.

That’s where your internal ‘social media sales funnel‘ comes into play! As a new (and experienced business owner), you always want to have everything ready so that people can:

(1) Find out and get clear immediately on what it is that you do.

(2) Have an easy way to contact you and for you to close the sale.

BONUS TIP: Pre-qualify every client

It’s easy to get caught up in the prospect of making your first client sale and receiving your first money as a new business owner.

BUT…

The client that you take on today will set the stage for the kind of client you’re going to be working with tomorrow.

Don’t just take on any client for the sake of taking on that client or, feeling like you need to get that sale.

Make sure that your first client is really your ideal client!

You see, if it is your ideal client and you’ve got your service offering and delivery fleshed out, you will deliver him/her results.

You need these results to rapidly grow a successful service-based business.

If you don’t think that a potential client is ideal for you, be brave enough to say,

Thank you for showing interest in my services. I really appreciate it but as of now, I don’t think we’re the right fit for each other. I wish you all the best and please let me know if you need recommendations for other service providers in my field.

10 things entrepreneurs can learn from Freddie Mercury!

Yep. After reading the title of this blog post, you probably figured already but Ben and I went ahead and watched The Bohemian Rhapsody this past weekend.

And boy! Are we in love with Freddie Mercury and our existing love for all the Queen songs has been newly ignited (okay, almost all, because I still don’t get the Bicycle song until this day ^^)!

After the movie, we went for some fusion Korean Bibimbap and Mexican dinner and chatted like always about our impressions of the movie and the story-line.

By the way, if you’re an entrepreneur and marketer, I highly recommend analyzing and dissecting the story lines of movies you’ve just seen.

Think back to what parts stuck out to you, where the theater audience ‘ahs and oohs‘ and why that might have been the case, etc. You learn a lot about creating a great story from watching great (and not so great) movies. Ma favorite!

Anyway, back to today’s post ;).

Here are the 10 things an entrepreneur can learn from Freddie Mercury:

(1) UTTER SELF-CONFIDENCE

“I won’t be a rockstar, I will be a Legend.”

Granted, probably none of you that are reading this right now ever wanted to be a rockstar. Or, maybe you did :)? Be sure to comment with what kind of rock star if that was the case #badassalert .

Regardless, it is save to say that especially as an entrepreneur, you want to build something legendary. You want to leave your mark on this world.

Am I right? Yes? Great!

Now, to leave your mark on this world it is SO important to believe in yourself. Regardless of what your parents, your spouse or significant other, your children, best friends, mentors, experts and students say – if you want to become a legend, follow Freddie Mercury’s example and believe in yourself.

Totally and completely.

(2) THE ALTER-EGO EFFECT

“You can be anything you want to be, just turn yourself into anything you think that you could ever be.”

Have you ever heard of the psychological phenomenon, the ‘Alter Ego effect’?

If not, here’s the gist of it:

An alter ego (Latin for "other self") is a second self, which is believed to be distinct from a person's normal or true original personality. A person who has an alter ego is said to lead a double life.

According to performance coach, Todd Herman, an Alter Ego allows you to increase your performance in business! How so?

Think about it…

Whether you know it or don’t realize it, you’re operating in your day with an alter ego – always. If you assume a different ego as a mother, father, boss, employee, etc. As such, you’re stepping into different stages of your life constantly: work, family, friends, public and private, and magnifying different parts of your personality to be successful in each of them.

The problem is, you’re more than likely allowing the fears, judgements of others and personal insecurities you have, to govern the actions you’re taking.

So, if you’d consciously create an Alter Ego for yourself as an entrepreneur, you can overcome all these road blocks so much faster and more efficiently.

How do you create an Alter Ego? Well, there are many ways to do so. It can be as simple as choosing to wear specific glasses throughout the day during work – or, whenever you do a call, FB live, etc. you put on a specific lipstick shade ;).

Freddie Mercury did the same by consciously creating his Alter Ego for the stage throughout his clothes. How will you do it? Leave a comment down below.

“I’m possessed by love, but isn’t everybody?”

Too often we are consumed by ego-centric questions like, “I want to hit that revenue,” “I’m afraid they don’t like what I have to offer,” “our operations need to improve,” etc.

They are all coming from the business’s and organization’s point of view and not, from the perspective of what is best for our customer and client. Surely, we care about them. But I want to advocate to care more about them <3.

To put our customers and clients experiences and results at the upmost importance to us, so much so that we think about this ninety percent of the time.

Because, if our customers and clients feel that we truly love doing business with them, this love, dedication and care will become amplified and success is unavoidable.

So, I want to encourage you that whatever it is that you do and create throughout your career, make sure to love what you are doing and for whom you are doing it for. Be in love with your market and niche, love your customers and clients, love your struggles as well as successes…

In the end, life is all about love, babe ;).

(4) GOAL SETTING

“I like to be surrounded by splendid things.”

What are some numbers that you’re trying to hit throughout your entrepreneurial journey and

Even when Freddie Mercury was still working at a packer at the London Heathrow Airport, he knew that one day he would like to be surrounded by splendid things.

He was always fighting, especially with his father about the kind of lifestyle he yearned to create. The thing is, if you also love the more splendid things in life, there is nothing wrong with it. It is totally okay and I encourage you to get clear on those.

Get clear on the goals that you have for your life and how you envision your ideal life to play out.

Why originality? Originality translates into emotions. Emotions connect people.

There is so much noise online and all around us. So much noise. We experience a constant onslaught of the media, different people’s opinions and more.

In a world that has so much noise, how do you find your originality? It’s a question that I ask myself a lot because I believe that originality is a part of making your message go viral (if not the most important part of the recipe when we talk about a business’s message).

(7) BE 1000% COMMITTED

“When we began, we approached it the way we did because we were not prepared to be out-of-work musicians, ever. We said either take it on as a serious commodity or don’t do it at all.”

Did you know that there was a test that measured your commitment? If your jaw just dropped open than you’re like me a few months ago when I first found out about it.

Test are always fun, aren’t they? So, I thought I’d share this with me. Granted, Freddie Mercury surely did not take this test to ever measure his level of commitment because he was so one-thousand percent committed to Queen and their goals.

Regardless, I think with all of the shiny object syndrome all around us that often times come from consuming things online, it is a great idea to measure your commitment to find out if it could use some focus on our end.

(8) PURPOSE

Why do you want to be an entrepreneur?
Why do you want to grow your specific business?
What is your purpose?
What is the message you want to share with your tribe?
What brings a smile onto your ideal customers and clients?
What brings a smile onto your own face?
How do you want your ideal customers or clients to feel when doing business with you?

If you’ve never stopped and paused to answer these questions for yourself, I want to encourage you to do so right now. Grab your favorite notebook or your journal, lighten a candle, turn on some soothing music and off you go. Figure out these questions for you.

Note: There are no right or wrong answers. There are only those answers that feel like they are in alignment with you.

(9) MONEY

“Money can not buy happiness, but it can damn well give it!”

This is something that I absolutely believe in. Growing a business means that you have to grow your business revenue. This is something any business owner will always focus on.
If your revenue is not growing, your business is not growing.

Now, the more money you personally make does not mean that your happiness will grow at the same rate. You are responsible for your own happiness and it is something that is fundamentally innate.

However, something that will definitely ignite your own happiness is if you give meaningful gifts and financial support to someone in dire need of it.

(10) ALLOW YOURSELF TO DREAM

26 Products In My Carry-On I Can’t Travel Without

Or, the art of packing your hand luggage.

One of the coolest things about being an online business owner is that you can meet up in real life with the cool peeps you interact with online on a daily or regular basis, at industry conferences around the world.

Today, I came back from Orlando, Florida, where I attended the Funnel Hacking Live Conference #fhl2018 .

Most people actually don’t know this about me but I’m very systematic and organized when it comes to preparing for a trip. I’m a PRO at packing and made an art out of it.

It probably started when I was just eighteen years old and decided to attend university in Hawaii. I needed to move my ENTIRE life from Austria to the U.S. at that time.

Ever since then, I’ve flown SO many times internationally as well as domestically that I’ve really perfected my packing.

Today, I wanted to share my carry-on list with you and hope you’ll find it helpful.

NOTE: The things I carry with me vary a little bit depending on the purpose of the trip. However, the things I'm listing here will ensure you have a nice and relaxing flight while being prepared for all sorts of events during a flight.

One of the most important things is what you bring with you into the cabin.

& Depending on the things you carry with you, it can make or break your flight experience. Trust me.

I’ve flown about 18 times alone last year, so here’s my secret to packing my carry-on and that will ensure you an enjoyable flight experience.

Smartphone

I currently use the Samsung Galaxy s8. On my phone, I have downloaded my favorite podcasts, a couple of audiobooks as well as several music playlists.

Depending on what you like to listen to or watch, just do you ;).

Laptop

Of course, as an online business owner and entrepreneur I can never forget my laptop. Having access to my laptop is my livelihood.

A book for entertainment

You never know when the board computer of an aircraft won’t work or if your computer decides to stop working suddenly.

Yes, all of those things have happened before to me.

As a result and as to not go crazy out of boredom on a long-distance flight, I always bring a good book with me.

For fiction, I recommend A Nightingale by Kristin Hannah in case you haven’t read it thus far.

For non-fiction, I recommend The E-Myth by Michael Gerber.

Headphones

I never liked the fairly cheap airline headphones that the stewardesses usually provide you with. Instead, I love bringing my BOSE headphones on short-distance flights as well as my larger BOSE noise-cancellation headphones on long-distance flights.

Notebook

I love finding unique and purposeful notebooks such as the one in the video (which is sold out I just saw) or this one on Etsy:

Something to write with

The pens by the company Kyinflose are great. You can find them here.

Mints

Altoids are great (or any other sugar-free mints) or plain old simple chewing gum works too ;).

And in case you didn’t know, here is an interesting read on relieving air pressure when traveling in combination with chewing gum.

Pain-Reliever

Due to the air pressure on a long-distance flight I sometimes (if rarely) get headaches. Ibuprofen is my go-to pain killer for that or, for whatever unplanned occurrence.

Lip-balm

Organic lib balm is awesome and helps to keep your lips moist and shiny. My favorite one is the one from H for Love.

Mouth Hygiene 

Toothbrush, toothpaste and mouth wash are something that never miss from my carry-on luggage. Ever since getting Invisalign, I’ve totally gotten into the habit of brushing my teeth after each meal that I consume. And, it helps to keep my teeth nice and white as well ;).

Essential Oil

Lavender oil calms you down if you simply rub a tiny bit right underneath your nose and in the middle of the forehead. It also helps to fall asleep. In case you don’t like the smell of Lavender Oil but rather prefer a different smell, go ahead and take that one with you.

Deodorant

For some odd reason, I personally love the earthy smells that men’s deodorants have. As a result, I use any of the Old Spice deodorants.

Moisturizing Facial Spray

This is SO refreshing if you do that. A little tip of mine ;). I love the beauty elixir spray by Caudalie. I use it a lot throughout the flight and it immediately makes me feel as if I was sitting in a fresh-smelling forest, rather than in an often times stuffy plane.

Nail-file

In case you don’t do Gel Nails when getting ready for a conference or before leaving for vacation, I’d highly recommend brining a nail file. My favorites are the ones by MAKARTT.

Lady Products

Even if you don’t have your period during the time that you’re traveling, bring a few extra pads regardless. Once, when I was flying, my seat neighbor desperately needed some and I was able to provide her with some.

So, if you carry them with you, you’re always prepared to not only help yourself but a fellow lady out as well ;). The Menstrual pads that I recommend are the ones by RAEL. They are great and I’m happy to see that lady products are actually being made of better, non-toxic materials now.

Floss

In case little leftover crumbs from the airplane food get stuck in your teeth, floss will be the solution.

Eye drops

Eye drops are particularly helpful during a long-distance flight. I always get irritation in my eyes after long-distance flights. So, in order to not look like a red-eyed demon or something like that, I always make sure to carry eye drops with me.

Neosporin

You cut yourself sometimes or get blisters from your shoes. It happens. That’s why I always have one emergency tube of Neosporin with me.

Hair band

If you’re a woman and have hair that’s longer than past your shoulder, carrying a couple of extra hair bands with you can help a lot. I like these ones because they are super cute.

Perfume

I’m pretty European when it comes to certain things and so, I always carry some form of perfume with me. When I travel I usually like perfume roller balls or small travel sizes. In case you can’t get some samples from your local Sephora, I recommend the Pre De Provence Rollerball.

Tweezer

As a gal, you never know when you see a little hair somewhere along your brow lines (or in between your nose) that’s not exactly where it should be. A tweezer is here to help. My favorites are certainly the tweezers by Revlon.

Hair brush or comb

My hair can get pretty knotted up after a flight if I don’t brush it out right after we arrive at my destination airport. It’s probably because I like to leave it open since it is more comfortable.

In order to look all neat and tidy when I arrive at my destination, I like to comb through my hair with a comb or hair brush I carry with me. It can make such a difference.

I particularly love this Boar bristle hair brush and comb set here.

Moisturizing Cream

My absolute all-time favorite, light-weight flight moisturizing cream is the one by Dr. LJH. It’s by far the best cream I’ve ever used (particularly for the price as well). You can get it here.

Mascara

Ideally, I only put on Mascara when I get off the plane (unless I’m coming from the conference or a business meeting).

The Mascara of my choice is DIOR’s Diorshow Iconic. It’s the sexiest mascara ever by far.

Lipstick

Once we land, I’ll stop by the restroom real quick and apply a layer of lipstick. The European in me feels totally put together and ready to take on the world as long as I wear lipstick.

My current favorite one is also by DIOR ADDICT and the color of my choice is Sauvage (as you can see in my video).

Concealer

Finally, having a concealer in your purse always proves to be helpful. Especially, during busy business trips, I tend to sometimes break out because of the lack of sleep and excitement.

So, guess which brand of concealer I use? That’s right. It’s by DIOR again and is the Diorskin Forever Undercover Waterproof Concealer in Light Beige. I’m currently a huge fan of their products.

How I Went From Boring Corporate Job To Blissful Boss In Less Than 1 Year

Or, how I quit my corporate job in 2015 at the age of 27 with $7,000 in my bank account, NO clue how to start an online business or make money online and had only 3 months to figure it out until I’d run out of savings.

And figure it out, I did. Read on…

To tell you my whole story, I’d probably have to go back a few years.

It started in college when I studied abroad in Seoul, South Korea. I took a few technology entrepreneurship and international management classes. Inspired by one of my professors, I started a blog.

My goal was to interview entrepreneurs. It quickly turned into a lifestyle blog. I was never able to really figure out how to monetize my efforts though.

So, it was more of a hobby. Regardless, it was back then, when my softly blossoming entrepreneur buds started to originate from.

Fast forward a few years and I found myself in a corporate job as an operations manager at an international corporation.

Okay, it wasn’t my awesome peeps that I worked alongside with that made my corporate job miserable.

Instead, it was the sheer monotony of it.

The fact that I did not use anything at all that I studied and was passionate in (diplomacy and sociology) or, my other creative talents.

You see, I grew up playing the violin professionally all throughout high school.

Not only that, I graduated from a special Arts high school before moving to the U.S. to study.

I always thought that there was more to life.

I did not want to get stuck in a corporate job, pretty much having the same routine day in, day out.

I did not want someone else to be in control over my own time.

To me, being the boss of your own time means freedom.

Life is life, though. Plans don’t always work out.

There comes a time when it’s not just about those plans. It’s about your future and it’s about what purpose you decide your life will have (and has).

In other words, how do you want to spend your time?

For me, I knew I wanted to build a legacy.

I wanted to inspire people and wanted to help them break through form the constraints they impose upon themselves and live a life on their terms.

In other words and the only way you can do that is by figuring out what SKILLS and SKILL-SETS you already have (or that you’d love to develop), what innate talents/strengths and figure out how to package them in a way that they become valuable to the overall economy.

Understanding that and figuring that out for yourself will result in – you’ve guessed it, income.

Which, in turn, means you will never have to send out that resume again – hoping someone else will choose you and turn your life around.

No!

Make the choice today to turn your life around.

It all comes down to that, a choice. And that is what I did.

I decided.

So, I started scouting out freelancer websites upon a friend’s recommendation.

My favorite site that I used to experiment with the kind of value I could add to the economy and other businesses was Fiverr.

From when I first used it, it has changed and developed quite a lot.

However, throughout the next six months, I was able to replace the monthly income of my corporate job completely with the kind of money I earned from doing gigs on Fiverr.

First success, right?!

Now, once you get to a certain point, you quickly realize that you need to leave the mothership. It truly felt like that.

Though, I had hit a wall.

I realized that if I really wanted to start growing a successful business (and not only be a freelancer, which is totally fine if this is what you want. it all depends on what you want), I needed to start to figure out how to position myself outside of Fiverr.

So, that’s what I did next.

Once you start branding yourself and positioning yourself correctly, it is pretty straight-forward how to get new business.

And after a ton of trial and error throughout the next few months, I developed a system for this as well.

Hence, I wanted to share it with other aspiring or beginning business owners and entrepreneurs that still struggled with that stage ;). Born was CONNECT, Facebook Networking For Entrepreneurs.

Throughout the beginning and even nowadays, I get about 90% of my clients from being active on Facebook, without spending any money on paid advertising.

The next success!

Don’t get me wrong.

There was a LOT of trial and error involved. There still is. That never stops.

I had people tell me that I was, for example, crazy for ever offering services on Fiverr.

Though the thing is that if you have never before made real money online before to where you can imagine it completely replacing your regular ‘job income’, it’s hard to find the inner attitude and mentality to get and close new clients.

All in all, you have to figure out what works for you.

Though,most beginning business owners and entrepreneurs are either (or both):

(1) Sabotaging themselves because they do not think they have what it takes to live the laptop lifestyle so to speak.

I was the same.

Not only that, I did not know what to sell. Fiverr helped me figure this out without, for example, hiring an online business coach that would have charged me (rightly so) a few thousand dollars a month.

At that point, I was not ready to make that kind of investment.

Maybe I would have achieved my diverse small successes much faster if I had invested in a coach or program though.

What can I say? I can be a bit stubborn at times and want to figure things out on my own.

Nowadays, I’ve realized to not hold on and let go of my stubbornness much sooner. Thanks goodness ;).

(2) Overthinking things. 

You can figure everything out.

Just take it one new information at a time.

Relax.

No one has it all figured out at any given step in their journey.

That’s part of the mystery of life ;).

(3) Too slow when it comes to pivoting.

Yes, there is a difference between following every hottest new shiny object AND pivoting if something is truly not working.

I believe that every single person out there (and if you’re reading this you are certainly one of them), can create the life for themselves and their families that they always dreamed of.

You just got to take a chance on yourself.

Try something.

If it does not feel right after you gave it your best shot, pivot and try something else.

Eventually, you’ll get there.

And some things which might be not right for you anymore tomorrow, are important and true and right in this very moment for you.

It is all an experience you have to go through to grow.

Don’t be afraid of trying.

Don’t be afraid of putting yourself out there.

After all, what do you have to loose?

You can always go get another job.

If you have a job right now, you can skip going out with friends for Happy Hour and dedicate some hours during the week to start taking action towards your dreams.

Life can change A LOT in one year.

Heck, you CAN change your entire life in just 12 months!

Think about that.

When I first started, I still worked from a cubicle in an office doing the same thing every day.

12 months later, I developed into a business owner, traveled around the world with my husband and two dogs while loving the work I do for my students and awesome clients and intentionally, building my online empire.

Why do some people succeed in life and others don’t?

What makes the difference between a person succeeding and failing?

Because some people understand not to leave crumbs behind while others don’t.

Let me explain.

For example, remember that error alert that kept popping up whenever you downloaded something from the internet onto your laptop?

You continued to ignore the warning signs.

3 months later, your laptop goes to sleep – only to never wake up again.

The hardware crashed and it will take you weeks to get it fixed.

However and since you didn’t back anything up, all your files are gone.

The crumbs you left behind and didn’t clean up properly have caught up with you.

Do you remember seeing that one guy, shopping at your local grocery store?

That same guy that back in college you owed money to for rent you never paid?

You see him at that grocery store and you know he’s still pissed at you because you kinda pulled one of those disappeared-during-the-night moves on him.

You go and hide because you don’t want him to see you and get in a fight with him.

However, he already spotted you…

Again, the crumbs you left behind caught up with you.

Do you remember that one time you know you really shouldn’t have given in to temptation,

Gone on that girls’ trip to Vegas with your girlfriends to escape being a mom and wife for a weekend,

Only to hook up with that stranger from the club because it felt good in the moment and ended up spending the night with him?

Well, your husband just found out…

Bad way to leave bad crumbs behind.

All these examples, are examples for bad crumbs you’ve left in your life.

Crumbs that you haven’t ‘cleaned up’ are ALWAYS going to come back to haunt you.

Life has a way of always returning your investment,

Regardless of whether it was a wise one or a dumb one.

Now you gotta ask yourself…

How, where, with whom, doing what… are you going to invest your time in to get the ROI (Return On Investment) that you want to be collecting in the future?

Successful people understand this concept.

They don’t mind delaying instant gratification and they are VERY careful not to leave any crumbs behind but clean up their s*** as they move through life.

So, live your life by design and never forget:

One shan’t leave any crumbs behind.

Unless they are crumbs that will give you a positive return on investment.

Most crumbs though, are crumbs you need to simply clean up to ensure a successful future for yourself in every area of your life.

Countdown to 2018!

Oh, what a year it has been!

2017, I have to say I’ve been quite in love with you <3.

However, you’ve also been a year during which I’ve learned a few of the most important life lessons yet.

Let me share a couple of the most important mistakes as well as take-aways that this adventurous year has brought with itself:

💡 You don’t always know what you want unless you try it.

I could have also titled this one as, “life consists of different seasons.”

When you get older, there are different things that are important to you than when you, for example, start college.

As a result, I thought that what I truly desperately wanted at the beginning of 2017 was to travel the world.

Don’t get me wrong.

I STILL want to travel.

I IS one of my biggest passions in life.

However, I realized that after coming back from a 3-month Europe and South Korea trip, what I wanted EVEN more than traveling the world was…

To build a legacy of my own.

I always felt that I was meant for more than dying a slow, potentially very uninspiring, corporate death.

That was one of the reasons I got into entrepreneurship.

I almost felt called upon to do so.

I’m an entrepreneur, an artist and creator to my very core.

It was important for me to travel to find out that this is not what I would want to be doing my entire life… so, in essence, to be a digital nomad.

How come?

Because I truly believe especially after the experiences of this year, that you need to set roots in order to let that legacy blossom and bloom.

You need to focus.

You need, most importantly, time.

As much time as can get in a day.

You need to look to multiply said time.

So that you truly can grow to your full potential and positively, touch as many people as you can throughout your lifetime.

When you decide to travel the world instead,

You continuously are looking for flight connections, hotels or AirBnBs to stay at, you want to reserve time for sight-seeing, you are dealing with jet leg and more.

What I decided I want to do is to find a better balance with more of a focus on building a legacy while reserving time to travel ;).

And this brings me to my next point…

💡 Instant gratification will only take you so far.

Oh, we truly live in a world where instant gratification is available to us where we look!

One thing that I am struggling with is to resist that call for instant gratification…

If it is focusing on the long-term vision for my life and sacrificing small joys in order to reach my goals,

If it means stop traveling for the moment in order to take my business to the next level and build that legacy,

If it means not spending all my revenue on like clothes or concert tickets, etc. but instead invest it right back into my business to further grow it…

I’ve learned way more in this year than any other to focus on opportunity costs.

I hope you are able to do the same.

Life is made up of small moments.

Each and every decision you make at any small moment (for example, am I going to pick a vegetable bowl over fried chicken and fries for lunch) is going to decide your future.

You are this powerful.

Act accordingly.

💡 Don’t spend more than you earn.

And yes, this has also somewhat to do with instant gratification.

After talking to quite a few entrepreneurs and business owners this past year (as well as people actually in general), I’ve become aware of the fact of how little people are skilled at managing their money.

Heck, me included.

I would say that both of my parents had a completely opposite view on money – an unhealthly one – and so, I have never learned or adopted smart skills around money.

Guess what?

It does not matter if you make $500/month, $2,000/month, $20,000/month, heck – even $250,000/month in profit.

If you are not putting focus on budgeting and managing your money, you are going to end up spending more than you earn.

And it is very easy to spend a lot of money fast ;).

You probably have a few ideas on your own.

So, the main mistake I have made is that I could have saved up and invested a lot more money from all of the money I have made in 2017 than I have in my accounts at the moment.

Yes, it hurts.

And yes, it’s slightly embarrassing to reveal this.

However, I want to shed some light on it because I think there needs to be a LOT more talk on this topic.

I have met a few entrepreneurs these past few months who’s business makes multiple 7-figure revenues.

However, they themselves, are still struggling to get by each month because of all of their expenses.

Anyway, I’m definitely thinking of writing a separate blog post on this topic and talk a bit more about about my own experiences so if you would be interested in that, just drop a comment down below and let me know.

💡 Stop caring so much about what other people do or think.

I am a nice person.

I like people and generally, I’m a very likeable person myself.

However, when you start reaching a certain level in your business – you inevitable are drawing to you some unpleasant characters or you are even going to piss some people off.

It’s truly inevitable and I am still a bit taken aback by how true this is.

It’s like so many things in life.

You keep hearing about some things but you don’t really want to believe it until you have been experiencing it yourself.

Oh, well!

I think this is one of my biggest lessons for 2017 and one I am still going to be taking into 2018.

To stop giving so much about what some people think.

And to stop also focusing on what other people in my industry are doing.

After all, you should be first and foremost concentrating on improving yourself as well as your business.

So if there is one major take-away I can give you it is that consuming content from like influencers, experts, ‘celebrities’, etc. in your industry – ONLY goes so far.

At one point or another you have to shut off all of the noise and just start CREATING.

Put yourself out there, the real you with all of its angles and curves.

💡 Celebrate those sleepless nights.

Growing up, I slept like a marmot.

Cute little suckers, aren’t they :)?

The older I get though, the more I seem to suffer from insomnia.

I lot of other entrepreneurs and business owners do too.

I usually got all panicky when I experienced those.

It seems so… unlike me.

Though this year, I have been trying to embrace them whenever they came.

This year, whenever I experienced a sleepless night,

I wouldn’t just lay awake.

Instead, I got up and out of bed and got to work.

To me, I’ve started seeing that there is a reason to why I could not sleep.

There most often is.

And guess what competes insomnia the most in my opinion?

Taking consistent action.

It quiets the demons.

The further I get in my business, the more strategic I have to be about how my use my time as well as the actions I take.

What moves the needle the most?

What action will have the most impact?

These are questions constantly playing in my head.

And they probably always will.

💡 Stories sell.

Finally, if there is one thing that I’ve come to learn throughout 2017 it is that stories truly sell.

Not only that, if you are open and honest about the way you are telling the stories of your business and life online,

Structure them accordingly,

And publish them on the correct social media platforms,

They can have the power to propel your business to unforeseen spheres.

Since experiencing this myself,

And since working with a few new awesome clients on increasing their visibility,

Upping their sales and revenue game as well as brand awareness through the kind of stories they publish on social media,

I have been playing around with the idea,

On creating a new digital program around just that (and more!).

<3 Trip To South Korea.

I’ve missed Seoul SO much since studying abroad in South Korea about 4 years ago.

I’ve been dreaming to go back, to revisit Yonsei University (my old school), go to all of my favorite places, see my lovely friends again that live there as well as attend the wedding of one of my fellow exchange students ;).

It was a blast and it brought up many memories.Things that I wanted to achieve, things that I have achieved but haven’t thought of doing while I was there.

Friends that I have stayed in touch with and others, not so much because our lives have developed so differently.

Feelings I’ve had and how different my impressions of Seoul were only 4 short years after.

Accepting and adopting to change.

Reflecting.

What a beautiful trip and I will be back soon.

<3 Celebrate my 10-year wedding anniversary together with my husband.

I got married when I was just 19 years old.

Not many people know this of me.

It is actually not something I like to advertise.

For years I have received the oddest questions to the fact that my husband and I got married so young.

We are not religious or anything like that.

We did not get pregnant by surprise as teenagers.

We just fell in love.

And it was a powerful deep love.

A love that freaked me out from the first moment it caught a hold of me.

I still remember it to this very day.

Take me back to this moment all those years ago,

Heck! A decade!

And I still would end up making the same choice :).

<3 Going on a trip through Europe with some dear friends of mine.

When you are an adult and especially one that runs a business, you do not have that much time available.

Most entrepreneurs and business owners know that.

So, reserving some time for social activities and simply, to hang out with friends becomes vital.

Friendship, just like anything else in life, requires work.

It does not just happen or is maintained on its own.

You have to put a focus on it.

Stay in touch.

Talk.

Offer advice.

Land a helping hand.

Connect.

Let us all connect with the people we love in 2018 a bit more.

If you’ve followed me on my Facebook Page or Instagram, you know that I have lost my laptop on a train in Poland.

It was an overnight train at that and well, I just forgot it after not sleeping the night before.

Note to self: Never take an overnight train again lol!

Moving on.

So, after receiving some help from my dear Polish friend Aga and lots and lots of patience,

I had my arms around my laptop again in no time :).

Yes, it hadn’t been sold or taken apart as I had feared,

But I received my fairly new MacBook back from the train staff, exactly how I had left it.

Miracles do exist!

<3 Spend some quality time in Austria. 

Oh, how I love my home country!

It’s filled with rolling hills, endless fields, flowy rivers, still lakes as well as romantic European cities and cute traditional villages.

Since I built up a digital service-based business as well as this blog, I have been able to fully be in control over my own time.

I am able to work from wherever I please and that, to me, is one of the most wonderful feelings in the world.

Even though, I am not going to be traveling as much this next year (because as you’ve read I am focused on building my legacy hehe), I still love to know I have the freedom to go back any time I please <3.

And do you know what makes my time in Austria always sweeter? Visiting my cute little niece.

<3 Hitting a new revenue goal in my business.

Finally, my team and I were able to break the $20,000/month mark in revenue.

My goal in 2017 was definitely to surpass the 5-figure income/month mark and I feel pretty dang good that we were able to get this far.

Now on to passing that 7-figure revenue mark in 2018.

True behind-the-scenes look of making a $20,000 revenue/month.

The past few months, my team and I have been fluctuating with our monthly revenue around the $12,000/month mark.

However, we’ve put several things in place these past three months which catapulted our revenue up by $7,000 so that we have reached a new break-through.

Every new revenue goal that you set for yourself and that you pass, it is like a learning lessons in and off itself.

The most important part though is that you now know,

“Ah! I’ve achieved this. I can do this. Now, what’s next?”

It’s almost as if you are a mountain climber and you have just climbed a little hill, only to be looking at a steeper one right now.

Guess what?

You can not think about the end of the trail that is still tens of miles aways.

Instead, you have learned that you need to be focusing on the next step and the next step.

If you at least take one more step,

Well, than you know that you will eventually also climb the next, steeper hill.

Feel free to sit down at times if you feel exhausted and need a moment to breathe and to rejuvenate yourself ;).

It does not matter if you race to the mountain or walk in leisurely pace.

It is your business, your life, your decision.

Without further ado, here is what you can expect to pocket away from a $20,000 revenue month.

One, my team and I have just hit in case I have not mentioned it thus far.

Side note: I lead a small team of talented people that provide funnel and content marketing to established businesses. We work with them to take their digital strategy to the next level to increase: exposure, visibility, client and lead flow, brand awareness, engagement as well as revenue.

Our focus is on unique story-telling because I truly believe that if people can connect with a business or entrepreneur in a unique way, competition becomes extinct – even, in a possibly crowded market.

If done the right way, digital storytelling is innovative in and of itself.

Moving on.

Here’s the quick breakdown of our income.

Service Based Income (Client work):

$18,000 – this includes things like Sales Funnel build outs, Facebook ads, content marketing, and coaching.

Sales Based Income (Digital Courses):

$1,300 – this includes any digital course sales for the month of any one of my online programs. You can find a full list of my current programs here: https://corneliapauline.com/shop/

Sooo much room to grow though!

Sometimes we just get so busy helping our clients, we don’t invest enough time in our own products.  

Of course, client work comes first ;).

Affiliate Based Income (Getting paid to refer other peoples products or services):

$728 – this is pretty passive income since we don’t really actively advertise affiliate products as much as we could.

How is it passive?

Well, take for instance this blog post and me pointing out to you that you can check an entire breakdown of the companies, softwares and products we work with in the ‘RESOURCES‘ tab of this blog. I include the link here and a percentage of you will go check it out.

An even smaller percentage will decide to try out a trial of one of these recommended products. I am than getting a cut from the company for referring you after you have continued to stay on even after the trial expired or you bought the product flat out.

Total income = $20,028

Now on the surface this number looks nice.

I am also sure that I will have the entire amount in my pocket one of these next few months ;).

However and for those of you that are already running a business, there are several things that are naturally taken out from this revenue to get to the actual PROFIT number.

By the way, if you have not read Profit First by Mike Michelowitz yet, I can only highly recommend it! That book changed my business’s accounting and the overall HEALTH of my company.

Expenses:

Diverse Online Softwares: $640

Wonderful Contractors: $2,200 (yes, my business partner and I still do a ton in house and are slowly getting better at trying to not do everything ourselves)

Facebook Ads: $238 (most of the client deals currently come through organic marketing on Facebook – see CONNECT)

Merchant transaction fees: $579

Taxes (oh hello, my dear friend <3): $2,780

Net (Not counting all the other expenses like health insurance…) $13,591

Note: I reside in California and my business is registered here. Hence, the Californian tax regulations apply to us.

Which TYPE of marketing or sales funnel is right for my business?

The great thing about sales funnels is that every business needs leads and/or sales so they can be of help to every business.

It’s just a matter of finding the right strategy and implementing it…

As we all very well know already at this point, there are several types of funnels you can use to potentially send a prospect on a discovery and ultimately sales journey of your brand/business.

Some of these types of funnels are:

+ Webinar sales funnel (can be live or automated or a combination of both)

+ Tripwire (= low cost offering) funnel

+ Free + Shipping funnel

+ Traditional sales funnel with an up-sell and/or down-sell

+ Opt in funnel

+ Client acquisition funnel

+ High ticket sales funnel

+ Etc.

These are only a few examples of types of funnels you can use in your own business to get the desired result.

Which brings me to the first thing you want to make sure to get clear on before even thinking of a ‘type of funnel’:

(1) WHAT is your primary objective? 

WHAT do you hope to achieve with this funnel?

WHY do you want to even generate leads?

Is it…

Sell an online course?

Grow an email list?

Get prospects on a phone call?

Fill up a live event?

Etc.

Now, once you get clear on this goal, you essentially start REVERSE-ENGINEERING.

(2) WHAT are you selling?

a) Digital product?

i) Consider the following strategies:

Tripwire (low cost products)

Webinar (high cost products)

Opt-in funnel (as an intro funnel for both low and high cost)

b) Physical product?

i) Consider the following strategies:

Free + Shipping (low cost products)

Tripwire funnel (high cost products with a low cost intro offer)

Optin funnel (as an intro for both low and high cost)

c) Services

i) Consider the following strategies:

Client acquisition funnel

Irresistible Offer funnel (Optin funnel – good for brick and mortar)

Webinar funnel

The next step is to get clear on exactly what it is that we want to sell.

If you are struggling with this, than this means essentially that you have to do more market research to validate your product or sales idea.

If you’ve done enough of it, you’ll know without a shred of doubt.

(3) WHO are you selling – whatever it is you are selling – to? WHAT medium can you use to best sell it to them?

Target market, ideal customer/client,…you want to be clear about those things.

Also, where are they hanging out at?

What form of medium do they seem to prefer?

I.e.: If you are a copywriter and want to get more copywriting clients, they want to most likely see more of your writing craft.

As a result, having a video bait element might defeat the purpose.

I.e.: If you are a coach, you want to show your prospects your persona and what you’re all about – hence, a video bait/freebie might be a perfect fit.

(4) HOW much does your product cost (if anything)?

I.e.: Is it a low cost product, you might want to be using a tripwire sales funnel because a webinar would be too much work in essence and not worth investing your time in.

Are you selling a high ticket item (like a course for $997 or more), you probably want to be using a live webinar funnel to make sure you get those conversions you want to get.

(5) Do you plan on closing sales on the phone?

Now you want to make sure to add a ‘client intake form’ to your client acquisition funnel in order to get the phone number and all the other information you potentially need from your prospect in order to call them.

(6) Do you have CONTENT ready you can use as a freebie/bait element?

If so, start out with an OPT IN PAGE and go from there.

(7) Analyze and see what it is that your competitors are doing.

One of the fastest way to build a funnel that converts is learn from what it is your competitors are already doing.

Not copy!

But learn from the flow of their funnel that they are using and put your own spin on it.

There might be a reason why they use a certain type of funnel with their target market and if you are in the same industry and have a similar or even the same target market, you want to use the SAME TYPE of funnel.

Finally – please remember – you do not know what you do not know.

When it comes to the funnel world, the best thing you can do is to:

[A] Do your research.

[B] Implement fast.

[C] Analyze the numbers and data.

[D] Pivot if necessary.

[E] Test again until you find a winner.

[F] Optimize and scale.

A Letter To Aspiring Entrepreneurs

This is for all you aspiring entrepreneurs…

I call bullshit on anyone saying that entrepreneurship or becoming an entrepreneur is easy.

If that would be the case, everyone would do it.

However, in today’s economy, entrepreneurship is the ONLY ‘safe way’.

It is the only way to realize your dreams.

It is the only way to achieve control over your life – financially, spiritually and, most importantly, over your TIME.

Now, this might sound like a paradox to you because why then is not everyone doing it already?

Well, it’s because people don’t know any better, they are afraid, they do not believe in themselves, or they are too lazy.

Trust me.

It is one of those things.

I’m guessing that since you guys are reading this letter, you are neither of those things or if you are one or two of them, you’re trying to get better.

You are attempting to get over your fear.

You are attempting to develop discipline.

And that’s good.

You’re right there with us.

But I also have news for you and you might know this already.

There will always be days where you’d rather stay in bed and not work.

The fear will never quite go away.

This feeling of not knowing how certain actions you take today will play out tomorrow.

But this is also the beauty of it!

Because you have complete control over those actions!

Don’t like an outcome?

Change something.

Pivot.

Ask a person you look up to for advice.

Whatever it is, never stop being in motion.

With each new step you take and action you set, you’re one step further on this journey called life.

I truly believe that entrepreneurship in all of its beauty is THE only thing you can do in tomorrow’s economy that will allow you to create and lead a life you WANT TO LEAD.

Something like ‘job security’ doesn’t exist anymore.

Employment is moving towards hiring individual freelancers who have specific skill sets that are needed for a specific job and entrepreneurs creating jobs.

The big corporations with all their ancient bureaucratic processes are moving way too slow.

They can’t keep up with the constant changes that are not only happening in the economy but also from a socio-economic standpoint.

Anyway, if you are or want to be an aspiring entrepreneur, I say you are on the right track.

Not only that, you’re ahead of the pack.

So, don’t give up.

Never give up!

Now, the only thing you need to do is EXECUTE.

Make.

Some.

Progress.

Every.

Single.

Day.
